Who we are

Kay Carter

Kay’s academic training includes a BTEC National Diploma in Catering, Hotel and Institutional Operations, City and Guilds 706/3 Advanced Cookery for the Catering Industry Kitchen and Larder, RSA French for Catering Diploma, Professional Cookery diploma and a BSc in International Culinary Arts gained at Thames Valley University.

After graduating she quickly moved into professional catering and managerial roles, working as Café Manager for the RAF Benevolent Fund and Windsmoor Fashion Group, Head Chef at Beauchamps Restaurant and Lincoln’s Inn Wine Bar/Restaurant, and moving on to become Area Manager for Westminster School Meals.

Kay also has teaching experience, having been a lecturer at Waltham Forest College, NVQ training and as a qualified food safety and hygiene trainer. Kay continues to provide catering NVQ courses to students at the Education and Employment Project, and Hygiene training to professional staff working with food.

Kay joined Com2 Catering in 2007. Kay loves her job because of the day to day variety of cooking and training in food and hygiene.

MohammedMohammed Drali

Mohammed’s academic training includes NVQs level 2 and 3 in Food preparation and cooking gained at Westminster Kingsway and Intermediate hygiene. He used to be a member of Asscofier.

Mohammed has substantial experience cooking in high end central London restaurants; as Chef du partie at Mirabel, and general sous chef at Momo, Yalila and Levant, where he still works on a casual basis. He was Head chef at Mr Jack’s and kitchen supervisor for the Salvation Army and also has experience of casual work in large production kitchens eg. Japanese Airlines at Heathrow.

Mohammed is also a qualified NVQ assessor, and will shortly begin providing Level 1 and 2 NVQs in Food preparation and cooking to members at the Highgate Day Centre, alongside the daily 3 course catering service as part of their catering contract.

Mohammed joined Com2 Catering in 2007. Mohammed loves his job because it combines teaching catering to students and providing food to happy customers who keep coming back. Mohamed’s favourite cuisines are French and Lebanese, however his ‘last supper’ would be lamb rogan josh, basmati rice and naan bread with samosas. Mohammed also really enjoys attending food fairs and exhibitions.
